I do wish I knew about this sooner too so I could’ve downloaded some myself. But I do see that people were able to and linked some archived ones below, so I’ll get to downloading those. I want to try and be polite and concise with my feelings. While I may have my issues with Cafe Rouge now, I can’t deny how much fun I had with it when I was a kid. I remember eagerly awaiting the newest chapter with bated breath.

The writing, art, and character development all have improved since Wonderland Days Sim Date. It’s really nice to see how much Pacthesis has grown since a game like Wonderland Days Sim Date to Star Days. There are a couple of issues I had with the game, and they lay with the characters and the writing. Personally, I feel like no one outside the main love interests is developed enough.

Star Days Sim Date might very well be Amy’s last game, but the legacy she created lives on. Discovering games so tailored toward your interests is a special moment, and many fans still recount it with fondness. In the four-year gap during which she finished college and started a new job, the project sifted to the back of her mind, though she firmly wanted to finish it someday. At that point, Amy had only made three games, but she’d sunk many late nights into them and wanted to continue. Yes, the machine essentially kidnaps whoever you choose, and with no other choice, they go on a date with you.

The one I had the most fun with is the murder mystery, where your date is accused of murdering someone despite him just being teleported to the castle and you being with him the entire time. It didn’t make much sense, but I had fun regardless. The world she created, the humor she shared, and the friendly community that spawned from her flash games cannot be replaced. Thank you for posting this because now I can relive my childhood to see if these games still hold up like they used to. Don’t Start Your New Year Without Trying These Games

The amount of fan messages and comments Pacthesis received became overwhelming at points, she said. Though Amy liked to hear from fans, the pressure to be active online perplexed her. “This game was so cute that I actually started to play this type of games ,” reads a 2010 comment on the Wonderland Days Sim Date page.

This feels like a slap in the face to those that got positive experiences out of her content. It just comes off as a bit egotistical to imply that her games had such a massive effect on the players that they were doing tornado-like harm to everyone in their path. They were goofy fun games that got a lot of young girls hooked on the otome genre. Pacthesis released Number Days Sim Date in 2012, and it became the last one to launch during her most prolific period.

Following a four-year hiatus, she published one more game on her profile — Star Days Sim Date — in 2017. I do wish that she’d given more advance notice since most people wouldn’t have thought to download her games before because we just thought they’d always be there. But if it brings her peace of mind, esp after all her years of just giving us free stuff, then I am content to live off of my memories. I’m definitely in the “your media consumption doesn’t define you” camp so I completely understand what y’all are saying. I was miffed at that, too, since female-aimed media always gets crapped on. For us fans, it’s a happy nostalgia, but for her, it could be an entirely different story with baggage that we can’t even imagine.

She engaged regularly with fans at first through journal updates on her DeviantArt and then through Tumblr posts. Her real-life friends chimed in, helping her make podcasts and manage the fan groups. But while the Pacthesis games garnered a passionate following, this internet fame wasn’t something she initially aimed for. DeviantArt dating sim maker Pacthesis joined the platform in 2007, creating and uploading Flash games to the creative arts-based social network, as well as on game sites like Newgrounds and Kongregate.

After reading her twitter posts about it for context, I agree with everything you said. I appreciate that you were compassionate in your comment, especially since it sounds like she is going through a very stressful time and is conflicted about her past work. Idk I’m sure some of this is because tone is lost via text but I side-eye people heavily who make assumptions about the wellbeing of others due to their media consumption without a lot of support on why.
